Every year, Aussie households toss out a whopping 2.5 million tonnes of food, that's enough to make even the savviest bargain hunter cry into their reusable shopping bag.

Let’s be real: guilt trips and those sad photos of food mountains have lost their punch. Instead, we’re skipping the doom and gloom and focusing on practical, everyday habits that actually make a difference.

Knowing that real change comes from practical, evidence-based, and behaviourally sound solutions, we set out to empower people to feel good about the part they could play in reducing food waste.

In partnership with End Food Waste Australia, we’re rallying the nation to join the “unwaste” movement. An easy to set of behaviours we can all use to cut food waste by 21% by 2030.
By fostering a sense of collectivism and empowerment through The Great Unwaste, we can make food reduction behaviours not just attractive and visible, but also a source of personal pride. This way, they are more likely to be adopted.
Launching on the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, The Great Unwaste quickly took over screens and streets nationwide.

During launch week the campaign secured over 1,000 earned media hits across TV, radio, print, and digital platforms - including a headline 150+ TV appearances. The message spread fast, driving 12,000+ visits to The Great Unwaste website and hundreds of newsletter sign-ups.
